Why I Made This:

This was created for a Gonzaga Univeristy Class: PHIL432
I created this game to explore what aspects of art -- in this case the Statue of Liberty -- are gained or lost in digital recreation. I wanted to look specifically at how the scale of an art piece can be represented in a digital form. After placing different sized statues, I wanted a way to capture the scale of the statues other than just looking at the different sizes. I decided to add a platforming/jumping puzzle to the game so that as the player is jumping up and around the statues, they get a better feel for the scale of the piece. Falling when you're at the smallest and easiest level is pretty meaningless, but falling on the last jump of the 3rd level really gives you a sense of how far you've come. I hope that you enjoy this small exhibit and that you can appreciate the different aspects of art which can be enhanced, lost, or better understood with digital recreation.
